HIKAHARU ART CHALLENGE
Some little Art History....
Back in the days, it was practically OKAY to copy artworks. In my Northern Renaissance art history class, there were artworks that were quite uncanny, but some objects were modified, deleted, or added. Even parts of an artwork was directly copied to other artworks. Even so, the concept of the picture was still there. Heck, you could say Madonna and Child is a played out concept used from the ancient days to now. (They're almost like fanarts imo! Don't get offended.) In a way, I think its quite fascinating to see how artist interpret a pic off another. You notice what they would change if they were to approach the painting. However, in modern time, it is frowned upon. People expect originality out of an artist, which quite frankly is now almost impossible unless you're the next Picasso or something.
That said, I'm creating a challenge for myself. I'm asking for artists to allow me to use their artwork for reference which I will create my own interpretation of the given piece but maintain the original concept.
The Guidelines:
1) Artists may submit artworks to me based on a given theme (below) which I will use as reference to create my interpretation of the piece.
2) Artists' artworks does not need to be top-notch or a new artwork. It can be an old existing artwork. A scrap artwork or finished piece. Heck, I prefer unfinished artworks from people who are not experienced at drawing. HOWEVER, artwork must not be traced from the original anime/manga. The concept must be yours!
3) I will try to reinterpret the artworks and try not to lose the concept if it is clearly depicted. Artworks may range from sketches to full cg artworks.
4) I will give full credit to the artwork I referenced from.
5) Artworks will be posted on DA and probably on my artsite [link] (It needs some updating XD;; )
6) I will do as many as I can.

Finally....
The Theme: Hikaru x Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club. Artwork must feature these two characters (Kaoru is okay to include)
Tadaa! No surprise? XD; The reason why I want to do this challenge is because I am running out of HikaHaru theme to draw! And my goal is to produce as much artwork for this pairing while my fandom last. Hopefully by the end, if I receive and produce enough artwork I could allow people to use it to make a HikaHaru music video in a contest to promote my next doujinshi XD;;
You may think of this as a request...but the requester have to contribute their own drawing in order to see their request in my style. Hopefully you don't see this as plagiarism as I am going to credit each artist and the artist will volunteer to submit their artwork. I am not promoting copying rather sharing ideas and concepts and see how one can approach these pieces.
The idea is like this which I did with my sister's artwork however it might deviate from the original a lot more.
